About the Author

Hey there. I’m Seth — or Renault, if you prefer. I have many names and identities, but these are the two that resonate with me the most.

I’m an information security analyst by day, but a full-time tinkerer at heart. Whether it’s breaking down computers to see how they tick, building servers from scratch, working on my car, or throwing myself headfirst into the worlds of anime, gaming, and tech — I’m constantly chasing that next spark of inspiration.

You’ll probably find me buried in a new DIY electronics project, debating the finer points of open-source software, or obsessively organizing my emulation library like it’s the Library of Alexandria. I’ve spent over two decades in IT, but I’m still learning — always learning — because stagnation terrifies me. Lately, the latter is all that I’ve been dealing with, be it due to demotivation or depression, but I’m slowly getting back on my feet. Slowly. I’m probably a fucking turtle at this point.

I also have a rather fluent history of being a writer and creative storyteller (ala roleplaying on internet forums in the past to develop my writing skills, delving into the worlds of my own making, or overall just designing characters to fit my ideal aesthetic). My current universe centers around a soul-bound antihero named Seth Acheron Tabris, someone who reflects the fractured beauty of people who’ve survived more than they let on. If you like elemental powers, philosophical dualities, and stories tinged with tragedy and hope, you might see bits of that scattered around the site.

When I’m not elbow-deep in a server rack or mentally modding my favorite anime universe, I’m probably behind the wheel of my 6-speed manual 2020 Toyota 86 GT, tuned to suit my driving style: loud, and spiritually tied to the hectic (and oftentimes rhythmic) sound of eurobeat and various other musical genres with a fully-customized sound system as I escape onto the midnight roads to clear my head.

This blog is a bit of a personal archive — tech tips, thoughts on life, occasional fiction, maybe even some raw musings — as I continue to explore and describe my current mental state, or to inspire others. I hope to inform them of things that they shouldn’t do, or as a written record of someone that almost lost what made me “myself”, due to epilepsy and various other mental issues.

If you find something here that resonates with you, awesome. If you’ve got thoughts, I’d love to hear ’em.

Just… be cool, be kind, and always be curious.

Welcome to my corner of the net. But be careful…here there be dragons. And sometimes…sometimes they bite.
